“The longer we looked at this the further the space receded. At first, we were drawn to the texture of the surface, which even in the photograph is compelling. Hatch marks, thread and the unique surface of the encaustic draw you in, but stepping back the sea, sky and atmosphere emerge to create a calm and reflecting vista. The cool blues and whites add to the sense of sea and sky endlessly reflecting on another.”
